Ketu in the 8th does not necessarily deepen 8th-house matters; rather, it may sever, dry out, or neutralise part of the 8th-house agenda. Since Ketu behaves as a planet of disconnection, withdrawal, and headless non-participation, its placement in the 8th can reduce interest in sustained penetration into hidden, secret, or tangled matters rather than automatically producing occult mastery. It may make the native stoic, inwardly hardened, detached in the face of crisis, and less emotionally reactive to upheaval, but not invariably investigative or esoterically immersed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, Ketu in the 8th must never be read in isolation, because Rahu simultaneously occupies the 2nd house, and the nodal axis must be judged as a whole. Thus, while Ketu may create indifference, severance, or austerity in 8th-house matters, Rahu in the 2nd can pull the native strongly toward issues of speech, consumption, lineage, family karma, and material continuity.
