Each of the seven planets has its own satellite. These are: Kala, Paridhi, Kantaaka (Dhoom or Mrityu), Ardhyama, Yamaghantaka, Kodanda (Indrachapa), and Gulika. These satellites correspond to the planets from Sun to Saturn, respectively. Kala is the satellite of the Sun; Paridhi of the Moon; Kantaaka (Dhoom) of Mars; Ardhyama of Mercury; Yamaghantaka of Jupiter; Kodanda of Venus; and Gulika of Saturn. Path and Upaketu are the satellites of Rahu and Ketu respectively. These are divided into two groups: Gulikadi and Dhoomadi. This article discusses Dhoom\u2014the satellite of Mars\u2014as the first in the Dhoomadi group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The calculation of satellites is based on the true position of the Sun and the day (weekday). The results differ depending on whether it is day or night. Each planet has one satellite, and in the birth chart, these satellites reside in different houses alongside the planets and give specific results. In order to understand the effects of these satellites, it is important to calculate their positions in the chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calculating the Position of Dhoom (Mars\u2019 Satellite)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The position of Dhoom in the birth chart is calculated based on the true zodiacal degree of the Sun.
Dhoom = Sun’s zodiacal degrees + 133\u00b020\u2032<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since one Nakshatra equals 13\u00b020\u2032, ten Nakshatras amount to 133\u00b020\u2032. If the sum exceeds 360\u00b0, subtract 360\u00b0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sun is at 14\u00b050\u2032 in Aquarius.
In zodiacal degrees: 300\u00b0 (for Aquarius) + 14\u00b050\u2032 = 314\u00b050\u2032
Add 133\u00b020\u2032 \u2192 314\u00b050\u2032 + 133\u00b020\u2032 = 448\u00b010\u2032
Since this exceeds 360\u00b0, subtract 360\u00b0:
448\u00b010\u2032 \u2212 360\u00b0 = 88\u00b010\u2032<\/strong>, which corresponds to Gemini 28\u00b010\u2032<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, Dhoom falls in Gemini at 28\u00b010\u2032.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Generally, Dhoom falls in the 5th house from the Sun, unless the Sun\u2019s longitude exceeds 16\u00b040\u2032 in its sign\u2014in that case, Dhoom moves to the 6th house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Results of Dhoom in Various Houses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Dhoom is in the Ascendant (1st house):
The native is valiant, with clear vision, arrogant, cruel, merciless, and always angry.
